Suspended sediments and particulate phosphorus concentrations respond to canal discharges (MATLAB)
Suspended sediment and particulate phosphorus concentrations can increase from the water surface to the canal bed due to the resuspension of sediments. The composition of suspended sediments can vary with depth, with the water surface having light, organic, and phosphorus-rich particles and deeper water having denser, mineral, and phosphorus-poor particles. Also, Canal discharge releases can increase the concentration and export of suspended sediments and particulate phosphorus.
